Microsoft’s collaboration with OpenAI and other firms working on AI is finally delivering the results it wanted. Figures coming in suggest that Microsoft Azure<\/em> is set to take on Amazon Web Service (AWS)<\/em> and Google Cloud<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report published in Reuters<\/em><\/a>, Microsoft Azure<\/em>, the tech giant’s cloud computing platform, is expected to grow by 28.9%<\/em> in Q1, 2024<\/em>. In comparison, Amazon Web Service<\/em> and Google Cloud<\/em> will witness an estimated growth of 14.9%<\/em> and 25%,<\/em> respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This further bridges the gap between the market share of the top two players, Microsoft and Amazon!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behind this meteoric rise of Microsoft are billions of dollars of investments it has made in AI over the last few years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Microsoft’s collaboration with OpenAI<\/a> and investments in firms across Europe<\/a> and the Middle East, amongst other regions, have helped it integrate more and more AI-powered, user-oriented features into Microsoft Azure<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This led to users switching from Amazon Web Service<\/em> to the Redmond-based tech giant’s cloud computing platform, Microsoft Azure<\/em>. The market share of Azure is expected to rise even higher in the coming years, given Microsoft’s future plans. We have reported how Microsoft’s $2.1B <\/em>investment in Mistral<\/em> focuses on Azure<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, experts are certain that Amazon won’t sit back and let Microsoft capture the market. According to Reuter’s<\/em> report, analysts D.A. Davidson and Gil Luria believe,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\nMicrosoft has gained a lot of ground last year based on its AI prominence, but AWS is still a much bigger business and we expect Amazon to catch up to those capabilities over the next couple of years.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

While Amazon hasn’t so far publicized any AI-powered features, it could do so in the near future. Amazon has investments worth $4 billion in Anthropic, an OpenAI competitor. Anthropic’s Claude 3<\/em> has proven its mettle<\/a> in the AI landscape, outperforming all available options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will have to wait another few days as the top three players, Microsoft Azure<\/em>, Amazon Web Service<\/em>, and Google Cloud<\/em>, share the official figures to ascertain Microsoft’s dominance in the market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
